our vision

The Central Fraser Valley Graphic Guild was formed in 1977 by students of the printmaking department of the Fraser Valley College, with a vision of promoting and informing the public about printmaking, as well as, providing opportunities for its members to display their art work within the community.   The Guild also established a scholarship fund at UCFV for fine arts students. 

Through the years, the Graphic Guild has maintained a reputation for quality art work, although it has expanded from its printmaking origins to include painting, drawing and 3-dimensional work.

Activities

In the past, the Guild has conducted workshops in framing, photography, and demonstrations of various techniques of printmaking.  In 1986, members began weekly drawing sessions open to the public.

Currently, the Guild holds drop in open studio drawing sessions once a month.  Model fee per evening session is $5.00.

The Central Fraser Valley Graphic Guild is unique in that there are no prerequisites for membership.  Our members come from various artistic backgrounds and levels of expertise working in a diversity of mediums. We welcome new members!

The Graphic Guild holds 3- 4 gallery shows each year. At least one show is in Abbotsford and another one is in Mission.  In addition to this, we have held year round exhibitions in local coffee shops in Mission and Abbotsford.

Business meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm .

All meetings are at the Kariton House,

2387 Ware Road

in Abbotsford. 

Visitors or prospective members are welcome. 

Life drawing

Open studio drawing sessions with model are on the 4th Tuesday from 7:00-9:00pm at Kariton Gallery in Abbotsford.

Drop in fee is $5.00 for the evening.

Annual membership is $15.00 starting in 2010.
